These fun Piñata Cupcakes are the perfect treat with a sweet surprise! Bite into your cupcake for a sprinkle of goodies! Get creative customizing your very own colorful piñata with the Betty Crocker™ vanilla frosting and gel food color. They add a whimsical and colorful accent to your Cinco de Mayo table.

Heat oven to 350°F. Place baking cups in each of 24 regular-size muffin cups or spray bottoms of muffin cups with cooking spray.
Make and bake cake mix as directed on the package for cupcakes. Cool in the pans 10 minutes. Remove from pans; cool completely, about 30 minutes.
Divide frosting among 6 small bowls; color each a different color. Fit 6 decorating bags with a regular-size coupler. Place each color frosting in a separate decorating bag.
With the bottom end of a piping tip, hollow out the center of each cupcake, about 1 inch deep.

Fill the cupcake centers with the assorted sprinkles and candies until level with the top of the cupcakes.

Attach a petal piping tip (such as 104 or 127) to the decorating bags and pipe different colored stripes across the top of each cupcake to resemble the tissue paper on a piñata.

To make decorating these Piñata Cupcakes easy, look for the Betty Crocker™ Decorating Kit at your local grocery store or big-box retailer. It comes complete with decorating bags, metal piping tips, couplers, and an angled metal spatula.
